Core Team

Ian is a chartered building surveyor (MRICS) with over 25 years’ experience and is the leading partner on Rights of Light and Daylight & Sunlight within Schroeders Begg. Ian and the team, supported by co-partners and senior in-house design analysts, cover the full field in this specialist realm and enjoy such challenges as seeking to maximise development massing on site tailored to the client’s brief and appetite for risk. Ian and his team are equally able to act for those seeking to development as well as those affected by development and also provide auditing and independent review services for planning committees.

Ian is also an APC assessor (Assessment of Professional Competency) for the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, supporting learning and development within the industry.

Outside of work, Ian enjoys family time and often planning the next holiday venture, with their enjoyment of travel and culture.
